Every so often, reorganization must occur. The local yearbook collection in the Folklife Center has been arranged by title for many years, but it becomes difficult to browse if one doesn't know that Queensbury's yearbook is called "Orbit". We have been discussing rearranging the yearbooks by city for a few months now, & I decided to take a crack at it today!

Rearranging the yearbook collection by location instead of title requires pencil and paper.

In the process of reorganizing the yearbooks, I discovered a few with interesting cover art.

1951 Hackensack Yearbook for Warrensburg High School (Warren County, NY) <Yearbook Collection, Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library>

ree
A psychedelic cover for the 1972 Boltonian from Bolton Landing High School (Warren County, NY) <Yearbook Collection, Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library>

Plus, a number of the yearbooks from 1976 featured Bicentennial imagery.

The 1976 Bicentennial cover of Washington Academy in Salem (Washington County, NY) <Yearbook Collection, Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library>

More Bicentennial themed yearbooks from 1976. Clockwise: Boltonian- Bolton High School Hi-Lights- Hadley Luzerne High School; Hermes- Hudson Falls High School; Arrowhead- South Glens Falls High School. <Yearbook Collection, Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library>

I hope the next time you come in to look at local yearbooks you have an easier time finding the right one. I know I will.

Though, I just realized I put The Crown from St. Mary's Academy in the wrong spot. I will be moving it with the other Glens Falls yearbooks next week.
