Musical Monday: Molsky's Mountain Drifters Perform "The Little Carpenter"

Old-time music legend, Bruce Molsky, and his powerhouse band rolled through Glens Falls on March 28, 2019—roughly one year before COVID did. The capacity crowd that night was treated to a spectacular performance from the Grammy nominee and his bandmates. Today for Musical Monday, the Folklife Center reaches into its archives and shares a never-before-seen video from that show.

More about the band and our Live! Folklife Concerts:

Bruce Molsky, a two-time Grammy nominee and "one of the greatest American fiddlers of all time" WBUR (Boston NPR), brings his new group–Molsky's Mountain Drifters–to Crandall Public Library. Already a legendary figure in America's old-time mountain music scene, Molsky joins forces with banjo virtuoso, Allison de Groot (of the Goodbye Girls and Oh My Darling), and genre-bending bluegrass guitarist, Stash Wyslouch (The Stash Band), to point to the future of traditional, rural music.

Free, live concert recorded Thursday, March 28, 2019 by Kevin Rogan and Todd DeGarmo. Edited by Kevin Rogan.

Concert hosted and produced by Todd DeGarmo, founding director of the Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library and funded in part by the Friends of Crandall Public Library and the New York State Council on the Arts - Folk Arts Program with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature.
